Job Description - Construction Supervisor (Drilling)
Reports to the Construction Superintendent. Represents Company in overseeing the operations of construction, civil works, and water well drilling contractors engaged in the support of drilling operations.
Ensures that all work is done efficiently and safely in accordance with approved construction practices, established company practices and procedures, applicable laws and government rules and regulations.
Personally supervises investigations into accidents, incidents and equipment failures.Issues verbal and written instructions to the contractor representatives for specific works. Monitors progress to ensure compliance.
Issue instructions in emergency situations.
Scouts future well sites, using GPS and related seismic shot point data.
Estimates equipment, manpower, time requirements and associated costs for constructing drilling locations, sand tracks, and gypsum roads.
Must have a good knowledge of heavy construction equipment operations and be familiar with drilling location layouts.
Must have a good working knowledge of water well operations including: drilling, casing installation, workover and gravel packing operations, as well as pump, motor, and generator installations. Coordinates water well site preparations and drilling specifications with contractors.
Provides specifications to contractors for the construction of gypsum roads and coordinates materials sourcing.
Supervises location clean ups and reserve pit back fills.
Must possess good local driving skills.
Coordinates the planning and logistics of installing water lines to drilling locations and camps before and during rig moves.
Trouble shoots any waterline problems during the course of the well.
