Modularised and Pile Elevated Drilling Rig  is one of the drilling rig design concepts for shallow water environments.

1. Water depth range: 2 – 10m

2. Low environment impact. Installation and removal of piles may be complex.

3. Suitable for ice. Piles dimensions and clearance could be designed so that berms and/or ice rubble makers are not necessary.

4. Suitable for exploration. Designing the rig to cantilever over the side of barge would permit low numbers of production wells to be drilled.

5. Concept only. Can be fabricated locally. If built outside on 15 m wide barges it could be transported on the Don Volga with minimum assembly required.

6. Enables quick mobilisation in shallow water outside the water depth of a swamp barge. Best suited to a small rig.
