Cantilever Drilling Barge

Cantilever Drilling Barge  is one of the rig design concepts for shallow water environments.

• Water depth range: 3 – 7m
• Low environmental impact
• Suitable for ice. This is a development of the swamp barge, but nothing this big has been considered before.
• Not efficient for drilling single wells – primary purpose is multiple wells for development.
• Barge strips can be fabricated locally, but assembly could be problematic due to sheer size. Very high capex.  Massiveness of barge makes shallow water access doubtful.
• Flexibility for rig capacity, water depth range may be limited.
